My issue with Tapper’s book is that it’s an attempt by legacy media figures like himself to throw all the blame towards Biden for Trump’s comeback, while absolving his field of complicity for its sane washing and false equivocations, which I’d argue did more to help Trump than any of Biden’s gaffes.

Tapper said in his book that he couldn't get his many sources to talk until after Biden dropped out or even not until after the election (too afraid of losing their cushy jobs?). So that is the excuse for not talking about this well before the election? Perhaps if he donated the proceeds of the book sales as a mea culpa to a good cause to alleviate our polarization, I'd be inclined to give him grace. At least Alex Thompson spoke up in a more timely manner and got villified at that time.

What was your reaction to Bidens debate performance? If you were as appalled by his shocking cognitive decline like many viewers (George Clooney included) then you can’t call Original Sin a failure. What other than an effective cover up would you consider how the president’s inner circle hid his decline from the public??? And it wasn’t just tapper but many other reporters who were similarly stonewalled and gaslit. Yes I too would love to live in a fantasy world where tapper had spilled the beans before the primary election and Biden had uttered the immortal words “I will not seek reelection “. I think Chris Ciliza of the So What Substack has a better review of this book. I’m definitely planning to read it and so should anyone who wants the democrats to avoid a Biden or RBG scenario where a high public official insists on staying in office beyond their years of mental acuity. The public needs accountability about mental fitness when they take on the highest offices in the nation. Tapper and his colleagues are providing this accountability, how can that be bad??

It was plain for the world to see well before Clooney spoke up, and Tapper had a front row seat to it. Biden's debate performance was just the last straw. If Original Sin was released 2 years ago it'd be relevant. Today, its just 20/20 hindsight wrapped in people telling stories they should have said back then.

And Chris Cillizza is a tabloid writer.

Jake Tapper is a whore. That’s cut and dried. He will say anything he is paid to say. He should be mocked and shunned and ostracized. Fuck this lying POS. Fuck him to hell.
