Why are the democrats sticking to supporting men in women’s sports? So many democrat advisors, pundits, etc. keep saying it’s a losing battle, yet they cater to the far left. You are right, the 80/20 arguments are a gimme. I’m a moderate Republican and I would sure like to see more moderate democrats elected. We need two strong parties. Republicans shoot themselves in the foot too.. all the time, but Democrats have to start looking at themselves in the mirror and accepting that they set themselves up for the loss.
Every single Dem blocked that GOP led bill on Title IX and then the Dem women decided to wear pink( in solidarity of women's rights) to the speech......HYPOCRISY!!!!! As a woman who grew up under 2nd wave feminism and all its advantages, this is a hill I will die on. I'm tired of 4th wave feminists throwing my rights and privacy away. As a mother, with a "trans" identified young adult (and an activist for the "cause"SMH!), I want this nightmare to end and for sanity to return. Oh, and if you think it's just a few men who are pushing into women's sports, think again..... HeCheated.org
It is my opinion that the Democrat party has been infiltrated by the GOP. If the Democrat social media strategists are not Republicans, then they have to be the dumbest and unaware political cotrie ever created.
I live outside of Seattle in King County. I consider myself a liberal. And yet, in many of my social circles I don't feel that I can state my actual opinions for fear of becoming a target. I can tell you that "De-fund the Police" which was intended to be a short-hand for the changes you list in your article, was taken literally in far left circles. I personally know people who think this.
I know and love transgender people and I don't think that trans girls/women should be allowed to compete in most girls/women's sports (swimming might be an exception).
Don't get me started on "Free Palestine". Or the vast collections of tents all over Seattle (the area by the courthouse is, ironically, unpleasant at best and dangerous at worst).
I have been continually frustrated with liberals running to the left and further left and further left until they are in fantasy land ever since I moved to WA. I love it here, don't get me wrong. I lived in a red state and left to get the hell away from the theocracy.
But extreme positions taken by well meaning white middle class people is starting to grind on me as badly as the theocracy did.
Thank you for putting my disorganized thoughts into words. I couldn't love this article more if I'd written it myself. I will now be a paid subscriber.
I'm not sure I buy that these are traps set by the right. It seems more like the usual "Conservatives Pounce" effect-- the left does something crazy of it's own accord, right wing media points it out, then liberal media frames the story as "conservatives pounce on crazy left wingers" as if the story is the (reasonable) reaction rather than the left-wing crazy itself.
I mean, you make really good points, but the left sets these traps for themselves.
In re: NewsMax OANN. You don't. Anyone watching those channels are in the cult. They're not coming out, and they're not really that effective at convincing anyone outside it anyway. It's like saying "How does the right counter 'The Daily Worker'?" You mock it and people who read/watch it. Too many Dems take what will be on NewsMax attacking their side and feel obligated to defend it--don't--that's the trap I mention above.
In re: Fox. Dems can't be afraid to go on Fox and make their case. They need to moderate their tones to reach out to reasonable people in that audience. The problem is 1) most stay away from Fox and 2) most don't moderate their tone. As far as I can tell though, Jessica Tarlov is doing God's work over there making the case--I just wish there were more trying to help her.

How do you counter the right wing propaganda ecosystem (Fox, NewsMaxx, OANN, X, etc)?
Not taking the bait is necessary. But I not sure it is sufficient.

Okay this is helpful.
